We were on the road in one of the most notoriously violent sections of Mexico when we were run off the road and ambushed. Victor Avila is our guest. He is a retired US Federal Agent and author of the book Agent Under Fire. Victor tells the horrific story of the incident when he and his partner, Federal US I.C.E. Agent Jaime Zapata where ambushed and shot on a Mexican road by members of the Zeta Cartel. During the violent attack they were both shot multiple times and Jaime Zapata was killed. Victor tells the traumatic story of the attack, having to wait for almost 40 minutes before aid responded. The terrifying security concerns in the Mexican hospital and worst of all the treatment he, and his family received from US Federal Agencies when he returned and was trying to recover from the injuries. Victor Avila wrote a book about the attack and treatment after entitled "Agent Under Fire - A Murder And A Manifesto".

John J. Wiley is a retired Police Sergeant turned radio personality. He has been a full time FM Music Radio DJ since 2005. In 2017 he founded the Law Enforcement Today Podcast, in a partnership with Robert Greenberg of Law Enforcement Today. The show is now named the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast.
Within a couple months a radio station heard an episode of the podcast and asked him to create a radio version, which he did. It has been syndicated since the Spring of 2017 and has numerous affiliate radio stations across the US.
